Center for Theology & Land (CTL)

The Center for Theology & Land, established in 1987, is the rural ministry program of Wartburg Theological Seminary.

Mission

The mission of the Center is to strengthen rural churches and their communities by:

• Training ministers for work in small/rural churches.
• Providing continuing education sessions for clergy and laity in rural settings.
• Helping empower rural churches for mission in their communities.

Courses for Degree Programs

These courses are offered on a rotating basis and are thematic in nature.  Some of these courses fulfill requirements of other concentrations.

• Revisioning and Reforming for STaR Mission (Fall 2022, Fall 2024)
• Youth and Family Ministry in a STaR Context (Spring 2024, Spring 2025)
• Rural Ecosystems and Ministry (Spring 2023, Fall 2025)
• Leadership in Multi-point Parishes (Fall 2023, Spring 2026)
• Ministry in Rural Context (Spring 2024)
